WHO IS MOMO?

HOW DID MOMO COME ABOUT?

Murphy AKA Momo was a reject from an oops litter. Born in Colorado he made his way across country with some of his siblings to a sighthound rescue in DC.  It had been a few months since I lost one of my dogs due to cancer and I did not know if I was quite ready to adopt again. Not just adopt, but adopt a puppy!

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

When I saw Murphy's adoption picture it was game over. He was the cutest little pup with a curly tale that looked like a question mark. The application was filled out and the adoption process was in motion. Was I doing the right thing?? A puppy!! After all these years of having adult dogs.

 PICK UP

The adoption was approved and it was time to make the drive to DC to pick up our new addition to the family. I was so excited! It was a beautiful warm sunny day. My daughter accompanied me on my adventure. We arrived at the foster home and were seated to complete the paperwork as Murphy was brought up from downstairs.

OUR FIRST ENCOUNTER

The connection was instant. I was in love, he was perfect. My tiny little puppy was the cutest thing I ever seen. I was so happy to have found him!! Or her me?

AN UNEXPECTED TWIST

As we went through the introductions I looked over and saw a Greyhound laying in the sun underneath the living room window. She looked so familiar and I asked the owner what her name was. We talked for a bit and when she told me her racing name, I almost cried. That beautiful Greyhound girl sunning herself was the mama of my heart dog I had lost not so long ago.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN DESTINY?

What are the chances a puppy born in Colorado made his way to DC only for a heartbroken person from MD  to find him amongst thousands of homeless dogs. And then to find out the foster person owned the mama of the dog that broke her heart. I BELIEVE IN DESTINY, DO YOU?
